Now that we have seemed to survive the apocalyptic winter of 17' it is time to move forward into spring. There has been lots of activity around the farm in the last two months. We have our high tunnels on hand and ready to assemble (YES!). Seeds have been ordered and most have been delivered. Herb seeds are up and growing; almost ready to transplant. Chicks and turkeys have been ordered and will be picked up in a couple weeks. The brooder house has been cleaned and is ready for the new arrivals. We have been burning like crazy trying to get our plots ready for planting. The goats and steers have been moved to a new pasture while we work on building a more secure fence. AND this weekend we are picking up an adorable new border collie pup to join the farm!
One highlight over the last few weeks was attending the Small Farms Conference in Corvallis. Justin and I learned lots of new information and I have a much better idea of what steps I need to take for my organic certification.
