After living on our little lot for the last seven years I finally feel like we are getting somewhere. We had our pigs butchered two weeks ago and now have a very full freezer of pork. I have been spending this last winter experimenting with my soap making before Heidi Lou and Bang kid, and start providing me with a fresh supply of milk. Even though goat cheese is in my future, realistically I know that I will be making lots of soap. We are also working on the new chicken coop to accommodate our new arrival of chicks. After having set backs with my bees this winter, I also will be getting two new live nucs for my hives. Luckily, I have left over beeswax and honey for making balms and lotions. Most exciting is the news that my best friend will be having her wedding on the farm this coming fall! There will be lots of work ahead between now and then getting the farm looking sharp.
