October 19th- Farm Fiber Day
This is a really unique opportunity to learn about natural fiber dyeing techniques in a hands on class. Sandra Van Liew, who has been spinning and working with fiber for over 35 years will be leading this class. All the materials will be provided and participants will go home with an assortment of dyed wool, as well as a booklet to put their dye samples into. The class will run between 9-12, then participants will be served a farm inspired lunch featuring local foods and wine. After lunch, we will spend the afternoon spinning and working on fiber projects. If you are interested in learning how to spin, Sandra and myself will be there to get you started.
What to bring:
- apron, or old shirt
- plastic gloves
-pen or pencil
- fiber project for the afternoon
